Here’s to you loving you’re crown 👑 more and more in 2024. There’s nothing wrong with rocking wigs, weaves, silk presses, braids etc but it shouldn’t be at the detriment of your natural hairs health.

Your kinks, coils and curls are gorgeous so rock them proudly! I was once that girl who hid my hair texture because I was tired of ignorant comments that colleagues would make when I would change my hairstyle but now I just don’t care. My hair is gorgeous and i embrace it. No one should ever make you feel bad for the hair that grows out of your scalp - it’s part of who you are 🩷

We’re starting the year off with ✨7 Natural Hair Tips to Experiment with in 2024.✨

It’s likely you already incorporate some of these elements into your natural hair routine but we’ve included some tweaks to ensure you’re making the most out of it!

Here’s some reasons WHY you should experiment with the areas we mentioned above:

1. Heat helps open up your hair cuticles ensuring the product penetrates through your hair shaft. This is great for low porosity naturals 😉
2. Working with stretched hair makes daily styling and maintenance easier in between wash days. You can air dry in twists or braids. If that doesn’t give you enough stretch then blow dry using the tension method.
3. Using TLC to detangle is self explanatory but we’re dropping detangling brushes this year and going back to wide tooth combs. You’ll experience less hair loss this way especially if you finger detangle first.
4. Trims 💇🏾‍♀️help you achieve your length retention goals. You’ll eventually minimise the amount being cut in the long run if you keep up with your trim appointments.
5. Studies show massaging your scalp 💆🏾‍♀️a couple times a week helps stimulate hair growth and thicken your strands.
6. Cornrow based protective styles adds less tension to your hairline and scalp. Your hair is braided down and not pulling on your strands in comparison to braids and faux loc styles.
7. Create a moisture retention routine that keeps your hair hydrated 💦 for at least 4 - 5 days and re-moisturise when need be.
